Bagni San Filippo is a small town in the lower Val d'Orcia (just 30 minutes from the border with Lazio) on the eastern skirts of Monte Amiata. It is about 30 minutes south of Pienza, an hour 10 minutes from Siena and 2 hours from Florence. If you're in Florence, these are closer than the Saturnia springs.

Hot Springs of San Filippo, Italy. This is the Fosso Bianca, or white waterfalls with small pools clinging to the white mountain. It was formed by calcium formations due to the high calcium content of the therapeutic waters. The site is impressive and Jeff scampered right up the face of the white cliff. A little fun fact is Bagni San Filippo is also called "La Balena Bianca" (the white whale) due to its unique limestone rock formations. Since we made our visit from Bagno Vignoni, I figured that I should describe the directions from San Quirico d'Orcia in the heart of the scenic part of Tuscany.
